How is an Eyelid Lift Performed?

An eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, varies depending on whether the upper eyelids are being lifted, the lower eyelids, or both. Incisions are made in natural creases that fade nicely with time. Excess skin is trimmed and bulging fat is removed or repositioned. The entire procedure takes 1 to 2 hours. After stitches are removed a week later, swelling and bruising have usually resolved and your eyes will have a much younger and lively appearance.
