How is Fat Grafting Performed?

A fat grafting or fat transfer procedure begins with liposuction to one or more areas of the body where there is excess fat that can safely be removed. The second part of the procedure involves injection of concentrated fat cells into the areas of the body that need additional volume, lifting and tightening. The entire procedure is performed through incisions less than the width of your smallest fingernail. Swelling and bruising subside after a couple weeks, and the final result of the volumized area can be seen after one year.
